How RUHX supporters
helped create the new centre

down arrow
It’s your fundraising challenges that made this Extra-Extraordinary

The new centre is backed by over £40m in Government funding as part of the New Hospital Programme. The Dyson Cancer Centre was also supported by a £10m campaign from RUHX, the hospital’s official charity, including a £4m donation from the James Dyson Foundation and £1m by the Medlock Charitable Trust. A further £1.5m was donated by Macmillan Cancer Support to fund the Macmillan Wellbeing Hub.

We are so grateful for the kindness and generosity of thousands of wonderful supporters across our community.  It’s your moving walks,  gifts in wills, events, cake sales, runs, skydives and many more amazing acts of kindness that have created this extra extraordinary new facility for the future community.  We’re proud of your achievement!

The £10 million raised has enabled extraordinary things to be developed in the Dyson Cancer Centre, including more space only made possible with your help.  There is space for family rooms, almost double the space per inpatient that currently exists, outdoor space for patients, space for a dedicated hairdresser, benefits advice, and pharmacy.
